For Standard First Aid re-certifications, we ONLY recognize certificates that have been issued by the Canadian Red Cross. Standard First Aid can only be recertified once.
1 Day Course (8 hours)
This course will teach you how to:
Preparing to Respond
Emergency scene management (911)
Recovery Position
CPR for adults, children and infants.
Choking for both conscious and unconscious adult, child, or infant.
How to use AED (Automated External Defibrillator)
Working as a team
Signs & symptoms and first aid treatment for cardiovascular diseases such as Heart Attack/Angina and Stroke/TIA
Secondary Survey
Signs & symptoms and first aid treatment for respiratory problems (Asthma and Anaphylaxis)
Shock/Fainting
Sign/symptoms and first aid treatment for deadly bleeding, amputations, and wounds (minor cuts, scrapes, punctures, and burns)
Head and spinal injuries
Environmental emergencies – hyperthermia, hypothermia, snow blindness and drowning
Medical emergencies – fainting, diabetic emergencies, seizures (including infant/child high fever), and emergency child birth
